Chateau Tayet
Chateau Tayet, Bordeaux Superieur
Since 1994, Jean-Michel Garcion has produced a Cuvve Prestige at Chteau Tayet which ranks above average for a Bordeaux Suprieur, both in terms of its aromatic complexity and full body, expressing the finest aspects of the Medoc terroir. By using new barrels for ageing and increasing the percentage of Petit Verdot year on year, the wine has gained complexity and personality, while offering unbeatable value for money.
Following cold pre-fermentation maceration, the wine is kept on the skins for 15 to 30 days in concrete and stainless-steel vats of varying sizes for fine-tuned plot-by-plot fermentation. Each operation is carried out according to the vintage and grapes, and all vats are analysed independently. The methods applied are determined by tasting the grapes and assessing the condition of the vineyards, then tasting the juice.
The wines are aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, including 50 to 100% new barrels. The wine is deep red with an attractive, delicate nose featuring vanilla and spice aromas. Full-bodied on the palate with ripe tannin, it has a long aftertaste with delicate oaky aromas.
