Hochar Pere et Fils
Chateau Musar
This near legendary Lebanese estate was founded by Gaston Hochar in 1930 in a region with a 6,000 year old wine- producing history started by the Phoenicians.
The 2017 vintage looks to be very promising indeed, the wines of this year are unique, yet retaining classical Chateau Musar character. The tannins are soft and well-integrated and this vintagehas good acidity, depth of fruit and a long finish. Cellared well, it will age beautifully for decades
Dense and richly-textured with intense baked fruit characters: plums, damsons, cranberries, cherries, figs and dates. Bordeaux grapes lends black fruit flavours. Rhone grapes Cinsault and Carignan contribute fragrance (violets, pepper) and supple spiciness.
