Chateau Beaumont

Chateau Beamont Haut Medoc 2022

£24.00

Château Beaumont makes classic Cru Bourgeois which offers delicious, good value drinking. It’s owned by the same group who own Beychevelle and Lagrange and sits between St-Julien and Margaux. The beautiful, turreted château dates to 1854, when it was built by the wealthy Bonin brothers. They only owned the estate for a decade before it went through several changes of hands, including a notable stint with a relative of South American revolutionary, Simón Bolivar. Today, the single block 113 hectare vineyard is planted with Cabernet SauvignonMerlot and Petit Verdot and farmed with Integrated Viticulture practices in mind - aiming to produce the best quality grapes with the greatest respect for the environment.

A fruit forward, more modern style of claret with an increasing proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, 65% for the 2022. Although still young, this has intense, super ripe black fruit and well-rounded tannins, a reflection of the warm vintage which allows for early drinking.
